Why do they need to train in Provincetown -- not enough ocean in Sandwich?
It looks like our "free" fireboat came with an obligation to provide fire protection to foreign lands! What are Sandwich taxpayers supposed to do while the entire crew of Station One is at the other end of the Cape?
I hope the new guy decides to send this white elephant to a new zoo.
I’ve heard that if your house catches fire and you live near a pond, lake or pool that the department will truck this boat to the fire, drop it in the water and put down the conflagration. So, this is really a multi-function, multi-purpose vehicle
Can anyone tell me how many boat fire we have on a yearly basis in this town? My guess is not many. How many calls has this boat responded to? Not many again. A blown motor, under warranty luckily....next time it wont be and we will be on the hook for fixing this floating nightmare that is clearly not needed. Unless we are having numerous boat fires and responding to hundreds of calls per year with it.
That may be a little high on the fuel -- its only 25 miles across the bay ----- but i'm sure they spent more than that on overtime. (Somebody must have been the station while 3-4 guys messed around in Provincetown!)
I hear they have now submitted a Federal Grant Request for a heavy lift helicopter -- that will allow them to recover space capsules that may fall to Earth and imperil our local fishing fleet. A quick scan of history shows there has been the same number of space capsules falling on Sandwich as there have been fishing boat fires.
Also -- the chopper could be used to pick-up the boat and fly it to whatever part of Town needed help. Oh, wait a minute, that was last year's Hess Toy Truck. Never mind.

Not to mention they most likely blew through a $1,000 + in gas to get over there. COME ON SANDWICH!!!!

Hey be careful saying "guys messing around in Provincetown"....not that there is anything wrong with that.
