Julie. Well said. I went to the Forestdale School with spouse early, around 9AM and we were amazed at the light turnout. We were also amazed that the driveway around the front of the school had been blocked off. Hmmm, do they think we older folks would not walk to the voting booth and just go home? This one deserves a torpedo and not the type Dr Canfield hopes his kids will learn to build in STEM using the NEW pool. I honestly think the article in the fish wrapper paper (The Emptyprise) written by the mom looking for a free college education said it all. We are going to spend $900,000 so three kids can get a scholarship? Boy I hope we are smarter than this.

Can we get a recount?

Comedian Ron White is well known for his rye observation: You can’t fix stupid.
Now that voters have prioritized spending $1 million on the pool I am left to wonder: will there be money left for a police and fire station? Or Senior Center? Or library? Will there be money left for much needed repairs and upkeep? Will the town really require an operational override just to pay salaries?
Was the pool spend the right choice at the right time?
This morning all I can think of is Mr. White’s knowing smile and famous tag line: You cant fix stupid.

To Greg the frustrated. You seem quite frustrated at the fact that few people chose to vote. The reason is simply, that they do not understand the process and because they don't, they choose to let others make the decisions. It is too bad that its coming to this.

Sorry -- I don't buy the "don't understand so I'll ignore it" excuse.

What's to "not understand" ?

IF we spend $1 million to fix the pool -- what will it cost to operate it every year. And, how will that cost be paid?

If the School budget isn't growing, and union contract costs are, and now the District will absorb the FULL cost of the pool -- where is the money coming from OR what will be cut out of the school budget to pay for the extra pool costs?
