End of a Farce (I mean ... Era...)

The Cape Cod Times Ombudsman (ombudsperson?) position is being discontinued.  Maybe now they will be responding to complaints about biased coverage by automatically emailing back a pre-printed denial .... rather than paying somebody to say they will "look into the issue" ... and THEN (maybe) emailing back a pre-printed denial!

Much more efficient.

Yawn ...

Hey Bob. Maybe the Enterprise could add the position of ombudsperson to their payroll? After all, they model their crack investigative reporting style on the CCT? Dont they?

The first Ombudsman really tried to do his job, but this last one seemed only to back up the reporters and the paper's view, not to mention she had a strong personal agenda. I think it is not a position any longer that truly has an interest in helping create better and more fair reporting. Now that it has been more or less politicized it probably is best that it be discontinued. One less level of aggravation to deal with if there is a problem.

The last one was useless. I don't understyand whjat CCT's problem with Sandwichj is --- The Ed page Editor (Mills) lives in Sandwich and his kids are in Sandwich High.

Based on the garbage he prints, he must have a real problem with somebody at the schools. There's no way mashpee, bourne & barnstable can keep skating under gthe radar and sandwich gets nailoed for everything -- even if not true.

Mills wife is a teacher -- is she in gthe union?
