Yup. You guessed it .... copier contracts tonight.
Again.
Thank God we were able to elect 7 adults to supervise several professional staff people to pick out JUST THE RIGHT copy machines ! How do other Towns function without an elected Copier Committee ?
(Not a bad way to pass the time between lawsuits -- and certainly more fun than resolving contracts or figuring where to cut $3 million from the Budget!)

Fun Facts:
In 2010…the School Committee has spent more time discussing copiers than:
the superintendent search.
their litigation strategy.
the Math curriculum.
class size and student to teacher ratios.
MCAS testing results.
The ELA curriculum
Results of teacher performance evaluations.
Building repair, maintenance and upkeep.
Community School oversight and Audit results.
No other agenda topic has appeared more frequently on the School Committee agenda
No other agenda topic has been discussed for as many hours
No other agenda topic has had as many presenters and discussion participants.
And people wonder why so many families are talking about private schools for our children?
What a pathetic meeting.
Crossman claimed the secretaries SHE talked to hadn't used the new machines -- she apparently didn't trust the Business Manager who pointed out she called the wrong people.
Marshall abstained from the vote because after 3 months of discussion, somebody gave her another piece of paper and she needed to "study it further".
Linehan chickened-out and didn't show up for the vote (she didn't vote on last year's budget either).
We're talking about copiers, people! Move on ...
It would be nice if they put this much effort into leaking roofs, or MCAS scores, or maybe escalating payroll costs!!
